Personal Training

Personal training is strength training catered to your specific needs. No more group classes or generic online fitness plans, we assess your unique body and your lifestyle and build sessions to help you achieve your goals, whether that’s increased mobility, reducing pain or becoming the most athletic version of yourself.

What does a personal training session with us look like?

All of our one hour sessions begin with a full body assessment. Both pain and functionality are acknowledged and addressed. Are you struggling to climb your stairs at the end of the day? Sit for a long period of time in your car? Pain while hiking your local trails? Or maybe your golf swing feels limited, and you would like more range of motion. Identifying your goals and needs is always at the center of our sessions. Next, we identify where you are at in your fitness and functionality journey. Never picked up a weight before? That’s ok. We will meet you where you are at. Our sessions are always tailor made in real time. We don’t write you a plan a head of time and require you to stick with it during your workout. We recognize that your lifestyle and body changes frequently, which is why having a qualified personal trainer assess your needs each workout is so critical. You and Kevin will move through the exercises that you need that day to help you meet your goals. As Kevin also has intensive exerpience in athletic training, he may also provide hands on manual work if needed. Are you unable to perform a shoulder exercise because your joints are stuck? He can add in some shoulder mobility work to get the muscles and joints working together correctly, before you return to your exercises.

Throughout the session he will also provide you with education, we want you to understand why you are doing what you are doing, and help you to be able to implement these principles on your own. Some people require multiple sessions to achieve the foundation they need to pursue health on their own, others only need one or two. Still others will be seen weekly or biweekly, in order to receive the feedback and motivation they need in order to progress. We will be here for whatever your specific needs are. By the end of the session we hope you will leave feeling empowered with less pain, new information on how to care for your own body and maybe some fatigued muscles.

What are the benefits of personal training?

When you are dealing with pain and limited mobility doing general exercises are often not enough.

Just as you would seek out a mechanic to fix your car, or a doctor to prescribe you antibiotics for an infection, you want to find an expert on human movement and exercise to fix and strengthen your own body. Our personal trainer, Kevin, is just that. With masters degrees in athletic training and a nearly completed doctorate in physical therapy, Kevin is prepared to address your specific needs every session. Personal training allows for an incredibly tailored approach to exercise, and with Kevin’s background you’ll receive even more care and knowledge in how to deal with pain and discomfort. Our ultimate goal for you is to be able to carry boxes, chase grandkids and climb stairs late in to life.

Personal training is invaluable if you find yourself struggling with the motivation to exercise. At times we all need help to do hard tasks and stay focused, and exercising, especially while tired or feeling weak, can be an incredibly daunting task. We are here to cheer you on, work with your body and coach you in the right direction. We also get to see how you are performing your exercises real time, and will make adjustments as needed. We want every rep you perform to be the absolute best, so you get the maximum impact for your hard work.

While we love the in person impact of personal training, we also recognize that we most likely won’t be with you every time you exercise. Good personal training will teach you the principles of how to exercise for your body, so you can take what you learn and apply it every time you move. We teach you how to lift heavy objects correctly and safely, how to stand up from a chair and twist in a way that won’t injure your back. Exercise is an incredibly important tool in achieving long term health, and we want to empower you to achieve that in every way that we can.
